Surviving Divorce

St. Alfred Parish is pleased to announce an exciting new ministry that will bring hope and healing to those who have experienced the pain and loneliness of a broken marriage. Surviving Divorce features twelve video presentations that cover topics such as shock and grief, anger and forgiveness, money issues, dealing with children and a former spouse, and annulment and remarriage. This program is for the newly separated and divorced and those still struggling with issues many years later. It will help them find answers to their questions, restore their hope, and begin authentic healing.

The program will begin with our meet and greet on Tuesday May 21st at 6:30 pm. The cost of the program is $25 for participants and includes the Surviving Divorce Personal Guide and all program materials. Find comfort and counsel consistent with Catholic Church teachings.

This program is based on the teachings of the Catholic Church and is open to anyone who needs comfort, counsel, and clarity after divorce.

The Holy Eucharist is exposed for adoration in our church every Wednesday at 7:50 a.m.  Think about spending time in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.  When we come to adoration we enter into peace with Christ.

Every Friday after our Mass, we gather for coffee and donuts in the Parish Center.  Please join us!

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

Share the joy of the Catholic faith and Life! If you or someone you know, your spouse, a neighbor, or a friend are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, the St. Alfred community welcomes you to come to the R.C.I.A. program.

Do you have questions, Who is Jesus? What is prayer? Is the Word of God (scripture) meaningful for my life? What is a community of faith? Where is God in my life’s journey? The RCIA program offers a wonderful opportunity to address such questions and to “Come and See” who we are as a faith community. At the Easter Vigil we joyously celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation with the RCIA participants.

For more information please contact Kathy Operhall, Director of Religious Education at 313-291-6464 x105. We will be delighted to hear form you.
